Jefferson Parish Schools offers Behavioral Health services to students of Haynes Academy through our school-based health center program. Haynes SBHC is one of 11 school-based health centers in the Jefferson Parish School District. At present, we do not have on-site medical services at Haynes SBHC, Students registered at these locations will be able to access medical services at one of the locations of our partner Access Health Louisiana if needed.
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Therese LaSavia sees students on campus. After Hours Telehealth counseling is also available this year. Ms. LaSavia's office is located in the Discipline Wing of the 300 building. Parents can request that their child be seen by Ms. LaSavia by either calling Ms. LaSavia directly at (504) 561-3571, emailing her at therese.lasavia@jpschools.org or completing a Parent Request Form at Parent Request Form.
All students must have a current consent and enrollment form on file to be seen at Haynes Academy for Behavioral Health services. Consent and enrollment forms are sent home with new students at the beginning of the year; however, parents may sign their child up for services at any time during the school year. A printable consent form is located at the bottom of the page. This can be emailed or returned to Ms. LaSavia through the school office. There is no out-of-pocket cost to our students for our services. Co-payments are waived for all students enrolled at our SBHC. Commercial insurances including Medicaid and Medicare are accepted. Students who are uninsured can also receive care with a consent and enrollment form on file with the health center.
